HIV does not choose a gender nor a race. The proper use of protection between HIV positive and negative persons needs to be adhered to. The use of condoms, dental dam, (a piece of latex that covers the vagina) and the use of prophylaxis to be used for negative partners who have positive partners. This, however, is not set in stone.
Hugging and kissing or even shaking hands are warm and caring gestures. An HIV positive person should not have to live without those gestures of kindness.
The virus does not survive out of the body. It needs the warm and energetic environment of a living body. So, treat those who are positive to HIV with kindness.
HIV nor AIDS has no known cure. It is vital that precautions are taken.
- Use a condom every time you engage in sex, use a water-based lubricant. You are less at risk with fewer sexual partners.
- Do not share needles – that goes without saying – even when having a tattoo done, choose your artist is using new and clean needles. This is your right to know and if you feel the need to ask – so be it. Choose life.
